Snowmass Village, Colorado is a small town of fewer than 2000 residents located in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Politically, the town is an independent home rule municipality with its own Mayor and Town Council. The current Mayor is Bill Boineau, who was elected to his third term in 2018. The Town Council consists of three members who are elected at-large for four year terms. Snowmass Village operates a nonpartisan local government and does not have any political parties or candidates associated with it. The Town Council works together to pass legislation that will benefit the town's residents and promote economic development within the community. In addition, local politics are further shaped by the Pitkin County Commissioners and their decisions regarding zoning regulations, transportation infrastructure, and other countywide issues that affect Snowmass Village as well.
