Cheval, FL is a small town located in the Sunshine State of Florida. With a population of just over 2,000 people, it is a tight-knit community with strong ties to local politics. Every two years, residents of Cheval are able to cast their ballot for the local City Council and Mayor positions. The current Mayor is Leslie Allen who has been in office since 2017. She is committed to serving the needs of the town and ensuring its growth and progress. Allen has worked closely with her council members to promote economic development, infrastructure improvements, public safety initiatives and expand public parks and recreational facilities for residents. The current city council consists of five members who represent the various interests of the citizens in Cheval and strive to keep the town prosperous and vibrant.

Here at BestPlaces, we were looking at the voting patterns since the 2000 election and realized that we could express the results of each election as one letter. R if the Republican Party candidate won, D if the Democratic Party candidate won and I if the Independent Party candidate won. The six elections (2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020) would be expressed as six-letter word (R R D R R).

Then we went a little further and added the dimension of magnitude. If the difference of victory was greater than 10 percent, the letter is upper case, and lower case if the difference was less than 10 percent. This allows us to see interesting voting patterns at just a glance.
