Greenwood, IL is a small town in the state of Illinois with a population of about 5,500 people. It is an affluent town in the heart of the Midwestern United States and has been known for its strong sense of community and rural character for many years. The town itself is governed by a Mayor-Council system where the mayor is elected every four years and the council members are elected from seven districts across the city. The current mayor of Greenwood, IL is Richard Arana who was elected in 2015 and has since been re-elected for another term in 2019. In addition to local politics, Greenwood also has representation in state government through their State Representative, Jeanie Ives and State Senator, Jason Plummer. Greenwood residents also have access to both federal representation through their US Representative Rodney Davis and US Senator Tammy Duckworth who both serve as representatives for all of Illinois.
