Rock Falls, IL is a small town located in northwestern Illinois. The town has a Mayor-Council form of government with the Mayor serving as the chief executive and the City Council being responsible for enacting laws and ordinances. The current mayor is Joe Smith, who was elected in 2020 after having served on the City Council since 2017. Joe Smith has worked to ensure that Rock Falls remains a safe and friendly place to live. He has also worked to bring more economic development to the city by encouraging new businesses to open up shop and creating incentives for existing businesses to expand their operations. On the City Council, there are five council members who are elected by their constituents every four years. Together they work together to ensure that Rock Falls remains an inviting place for its citizens and visitors alike.
