Ozark, KS is a small town located in the northeast corner of Kansas. Despite its size, Ozark still has an active political scene and local elections are held each year to decide who will serve in the various city offices. The current mayor of Ozark is Kenneth Vanmeter, who was elected in 2020. The Mayor is supported by a City Council made up of five members, all of whom were elected in 2019. The City Council works to ensure that the best interests of the community are met and that any legislation they pass benefits the citizens of Ozark. They also work closely with state and federal representatives to have their voices heard on issues that affect the town. In addition to City Council elections, Ozark also holds county-wide elections every four years for positions such as Sheriff, District Attorney, County Clerk and Commissioner.
