Montegut, LA is a small town located in south Louisiana. It is part of Terrebonne Parish and has a population of approximately 1,500 people. The local government in Montegut consists of the Mayor and five Aldermen who are all elected by the residents of the town. Politics play an important role in this small community as they determine how public funds are used on services such as road repairs, recreational facilities, and water distribution. The current mayor is Todd Duplantis who was elected to office in 2016 with the support of the majority of townspeople. The five Aldermen are Mike Anderson, Jason Pitre, Robert Souffrin Jr., Chad Bergeron and Terry Dufrene who have all been elected since 2017.
