Bath, Maine is a small city situated on the banks of the Kennebec River. It is an area of beautiful scenery and rich history. Politically, Bath is part of Sagadahoc County and has its own mayor-council form of government. The current mayor is Leverett Wingard, who was elected in 2017. He is a lifelong resident of Bath and is committed to enhancing the quality of life for residents while finding solutions to the challenges facing our community. In addition to the Mayor, there are seven Councillors who serve four-year terms and act as representatives for their wards. These Councillors bring a wide range of perspectives into their political discussions, ensuring that all voices in Bath are heard in local decision making. The City Council meets on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 6 pm in Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 55 Front Street in downtown Bath.
