Dennis, MA is a small town located on the Cape Cod region of Massachusetts. It has a total population of 14,207 residents as of 2016. The town is run by an elected five-member board of selectmen and several other local government offices. The board of selectmen is responsible for setting policy and approving the budget for the town.
In terms of politics, Dennis is largely Democratic, and has voted for Democrats in every presidential election since 1988. In the last state election in 2018, state representative Timothy Whelan was reelected to represent the First Barnstable District in legislative matters at the State House in Boston. Locally, Dennis also elects representatives to other bodies such as the Cape Cod Commission and the Barnstable County Assembly of Delegates.
