Marshfield CDP, MA is a small town located on the South Shore of Massachusetts. It has a rich history dating back to the 1600s when English settlers first arrived. Today, Marshfield is home to many families who enjoy its rural atmosphere and convenient proximity to Boston. The town is governed by a five-member Board of Selectmen, who are elected from four districts and serve three-year terms. The Board of Selectmen appoints several committees to handle specific areas of town business, such as finance, public safety, and health and human services. Town meetings are held annually where citizens can voice their opinions on local issues in an open forum. The town also elects two representatives to serve in the Massachusetts House of Representatives for District 2nd Plymouth & Bristol. Marshfield CDP is proud of its strong democratic tradition and continues to strive for balanced growth and development that meets the needs of its residents.

Here at BestPlaces, we were looking at the voting patterns since the 2000 election and realized that we could express the results of each election as one letter. R if the Republican Party candidate won, D if the Democratic Party candidate won and I if the Independent Party candidate won.
