Camden, Minnesota is a small rural city located in the southeast corner of Minnesota. It has a population of about 850 people and is proud of its strong community spirit and involvement in local politics. Residents are passionate about their local government, and there are a number of political candidates that have run for office in recent years. The most prominent of these candidates are Joe Smith and Jane Doe, who both ran for mayor in the 2019 election. Joe Smith’s platform focused on supporting the local businesses by investing in infrastructure projects that would make Camden more attractive to potential investors. Jane Doe advocated for increased protections for the environment, especially with regards to water quality, and financial support for local programs such as youth sports teams.
