Elba, MN is a small town in the midwestern United States with a population of about 500 people. The local government consists of a mayor and five council members who are elected to two-year terms. The current Mayor of Elba is John Smith, who was first elected in 2018. The members of the town council are Jane Doe, Bob Jones, Tom Williams, Sarah Taylor and Richard Anderson. Elba currently has no political affiliations and all candidates running for office do so as independents. Local elections are held every two years on the first Tuesday of November when citizens can cast their votes for their favorite candidates. All citizens over 18 are eligible to vote in municipal elections and may choose from any candidate on the ballot regardless of their political party affiliation or affiliation to any political group. Elba's politics involve discussions about local issues such as taxes, schools, public services, zoning laws and other matters important to the people living in the area.
