Carroll, Nebraska is an unincorporated community in Otoe County located about 16 miles north of Nebraska City. The area has a rich history steeped in the early settlers of the region, many of whom made their living as farmers and ranchers. Today, Carroll continues to be a small rural community with close ties to its agricultural roots. In terms of politics, Carroll is part of Nebraska's District 1 and represented by State Senator Sue Crawford. The most recent election cycle saw longtime incumbent Representative Jeff Fortenberry chosen for a seventh term in Congress representing the people of District 1. Carroll residents also had the opportunity to choose from several local political candidates for positions such as county commissioner, sheriff, county court judge and surveyor during the 2020 general election.
