West Wendover, NV is a small city located in the north-west corner of Nevada near the Utah border. It is home to just over 4,000 people and is known for its gaming industry and historic sites. The city has its own local politics consisting of a mayor, five city council members, a town clerk and treasurer, and various other appointed committees. The current mayor is Mike Carter who was elected in November 2017 and serves alongside the five council members that make up the legislative body of the West Wendover government. Together these elected individuals are responsible for developing policies, enacting ordinances, approving budgets, managing public resources, and making decisions that affect the citizens of West Wendover. As part of their duties they also work with state and federal officials representing the interests of West Wendover citizens.
