Swanzey, New Hampshire is a small town located in Cheshire County with a population of around 6,000 people. The town has been around since the late 1700’s and its politics are largely based on local issues and individual initiatives. The Town Council is composed of five members who are elected by the citizens of Swanzey for two year terms. The elections are non-partisan and the council consists of representatives from various political backgrounds that focus on working together to address the needs and concerns of the citizens. In addition, Swanzey has several other governing boards including the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustment that work on local planning initiatives. All these boards work together to ensure that all decisions made are beneficial for everyone living within the town limits.
