Belvidere, New Jersey is a small town located in Warren County. The town of Belvidere is governed by a mayor-council government consisting of a five-member Town Council and an elected Mayor. The current mayor is David B. Gieser who was re-elected in 2017 for his second term. The Town Council consists of four members that are appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Township Committee. The members serve four year terms and oversee all municipal affairs including budgeting, taxes, zoning, regulations, and contracts.
The local politics in Belvidere generally involve issues regarding land use, taxation, economic development, infrastructure improvements and services for the residents of the township.
