Glassboro, New Jersey is a small city with a population of over 18,000 people. It is governed by a Council-Manager form of municipal government. The Glassboro Town Council consists of seven members who are elected by the citizens of the town. The mayor and council president are voted directly by the people and the other five council members are chosen at-large from each of the five wards in town. In addition, there are several committees appointed to provide oversight for various departments including Administration, Public Safety, Finance and Economic Development.
The City of Glassboro has a well established political system that is dedicated to making sure their citizens have access to quality services. Every year an election is held to choose local politicians who work hard to ensure the needs of all citizens are met. R if the Republican Party candidate won, D if the Democratic Party candidate won and I if the Independent Party candidate won. The six elections (2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020) would be expressed as six-letter word (R R D R R).

Then we went a little further and added the dimension of magnitude. If the difference of victory was greater than 10 percent, the letter is upper case, and lower case if the difference was less than 10 percent. This allows us to see interesting voting patterns at just a glance.
