Claverack, NY is a small town in upstate New York located about two hours north of the city of New York. It is a rural community with rolling hills and expansive farmland that has been an integral part of the state’s agricultural heritage. Politically, Claverack falls under the jurisdiction of Columbia County and is represented by a number of local officials including two County legislators, a county executive and various local representatives. The town also elects its own mayor as well as four trustees to form the town board. The current mayor is Shirley Acker who is committed to preserving Claverack's rural character while promoting responsible economic growth and development.
