Franklin (Delaware Cnty), NY is a small town located in the Catskill Mountains of upstate NY. It is known for its farming and rural beauty, but it also has its own local politics. The town is represented by the Franklin Town Board, which consists of five elected members who are responsible for setting local budget priorities, developing policy, and pass ordinances. They serve staggered terms in office so that there is continuity in local government. Along with the Town Board, the town also elects several other officials to represent their interests; these offices include Supervisor, Tax Collector, Assessor, Highway Superintendent and Justice of Peace. Each of these officials work closely with one another to ensure that the needs of the citizens of Franklin are met.
