Shandaken, NY is a small town in Ulster County nestled in the heart of the Catskill Mountains. With a population of 3,085 according to the 2019 census, it is governed by a number of elected officials including a Town Supervisor, Town Board members, and Assessors. The current Town Supervisor is Rob Stanley who was elected in 2017 and serves alongside four other elected Board members. The Town has local elections every two years where people can vote for their preferred political candidates for these positions. In addition, Shandaken has representatives at both the state and federal level that represent its constituents in Albany and Washington D.C., and ensure that their voices are heard on relevant issues facing the community.
