Morris Plains is a borough located in Morris County, New Jersey. It is a small suburban town with an estimated population of 5,213 according to the 2010 United States Census. As part of New Jersey's legislative body, Morris Plains is represented by the 25th Legislative District in the New Jersey General Assembly and by Senators Anthony Bucco and Kristin Corrado in the State Senate. The elected mayor of Morris Plains is Frank Druetzler, who has been in office since 2017. The town operates under a Mayor-Council form of government, where council members are elected by citizens at large for three-year terms on a nonpartisan basis. In addition to the mayor and council members, various boards are appointed by the town council to manage specific areas including planning board and zoning board of adjustment. Together, these officials work to ensure that Morris Plains remains a desirable place to live for its citizens.
