Belen, NM is a small city in the South Valley of New Mexico. It has a rich cultural and political history that still influences the city today. In terms of politics, Belen has been overseen by a mayor-council form of government since its incorporation in 1895. The current mayor, Jerah Cordova, was elected in 2020 and is committed to improving the quality of life for Belen's citizens. Since becoming mayor, he has made strides towards increasing public safety, providing better economic opportunities and expanding recreational activities within the city. R if the Republican Party candidate won, D if the Democratic Party candidate won and I if the Independent Party candidate won.
