Gilkey, NC Voting

Gilkey, NC is a small town with roughly 600 residents. Politically, Gilkey is strongly divided along party lines. Many of the locals are conservative and primarily support Republican candidates in local elections. The town's mayor is an independent and has served in office since 2011. There have been some attempts to bring the different sides together by forming nonpartisan groups to discuss policy issues, but there hasn't been much success so far. Despite the partisan divide, most citizens of Gilkey still try to remain respectful of one another's views and work together for the betterment of their community.
