Walnut Grove township (Wilkes County), NC Voting

Walnut Grove Township is a small community located in Wilkes County, North Carolina. Politically, the township is relatively conservative and is currently represented by Republicans at both the state and federal levels. Locally, citizens have the opportunity to elect a mayor, two “township commissioners” and a clerk who are all members of the local Republican party. Election for these positions take place every two years during November general elections with primary elections being held earlier in the year. Generally, voter turnout remains low during municipal races but there is still a great deal of enthusiasm from those involved in local politics.
