Chilton, North Dakota is a small town with a population of just over 500 people. Although it is a small town, the politics here are still important to the citizens living in and around the area. The Chilton City Council is responsible for making decisions on local issues, and elections are held each year to elect new members. This council is made up of five members who serve two-year terms and are responsible for overseeing the budget, police and fire departments, parks and recreation, public works projects, zoning ordinances, development activities, and other important matters related to the city. Residents also have the opportunity to get involved in local government by attending meetings or participating in any of the numerous initiatives that are available.
