Dunkirk, NY is a small city located in the western part of New York State. The city has a long history of being an active political center, most recently with its involvement in the 2018 midterm elections. In this election, Dunkirk saw several candidates who ran for various local offices including Mayor, City Council member and County Legislator. These candidates included incumbent Mayor Wilfred Rosas and challenger Mark Parry from the Democratic Party, as well as Steve Flagg from the Republican Party. All three candidates campaigned vigorously for office, looking to make a positive impact on the community if elected. Residents were interested in hearing their respective platforms and taking part in public forums to make their voices heard. R if the Republican Party candidate won, D if the Democratic Party candidate won and I if the Independent Party candidate won.
