Sheffield Lake, OH is a small city located in the northeastern part of Ohio. It is governed by a mayor-council system of government, which consists of seven council members and a directly elected mayor. The mayor and council members are responsible for setting policies and regulations, creating an annual budget, passing ordinances, appointing citizens to boards and commissions, etc. Currently, the Mayor of Sheffield Lake is Maryann Ferenec and the City Council Members are Brian Smith, Jim McBride, Tom Mariani, Julia Caravetta, Mark Kaley, Tracy Hanten and Joe Sommers. Each year local citizens elect these representatives in order to help make decisions for their community. They meet regularly to discuss local concerns and determine how best to serve their constituents.
