Douglass Township, in Berks County, Pennsylvania is a small township with a population of 5,087 as of the 2017 census. The township is governed by a five-member Board of Supervisors who are elected to staggered six-year terms. The current board consists of Chairperson Joseph Deliman and Supervisors Richard Schaeffer, John Kline, Jo Ann Haines and Kenneth Johnson. Douglass Township holds regular meetings on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m., which are open to the public and designed to provide citizens with an opportunity to offer input on various issues impacting their community. In addition, ballot initiatives may be put before voters during primary elections in May and general elections in November. Residents are encouraged to stay informed about local politics and cast their vote when necessary.
