Lower Macungie, PA is a township in Lehigh County and is home to approximately 33,000 residents. The local government consists of five supervisors and a board that are elected by the community. The current supervisor board serves until 2021 and is composed of three Republican members and two Democrat members. Each year, the local elections are held for the positions of supervisor, auditor, treasurer, tax collector and secretary. This year’s election will be especially important as it will determine who will lead the township for the next four years. Lower Macungie has also been active on state-level politics with several of its members lobbying in Harrisburg for issues such as education funding, public safety initiatives and environmental protection.
