United States / South Dakota / No Metro Area / Hand County / Como / Zip Codes
Como, South Dakota is a small town located in the southeastern corner of the state. It has a population of approximately 250 people, and is governed by a mayor and five council members. The local political scene in Como is fairly quiet, with most of the major decisions being made at the state level. However, during election season local residents take an active role in choosing their representatives on the state and national levels. A few local candidates have run for office in recent years and although none have been successful yet, they continue to work hard to make their voices heard on important issues such as education, health care, and infrastructure. Despite its small size, Como remains an important part of South Dakota politics.
