Fair Lakes, Virginia is a small town located just outside of the metropolitan area of Washington DC. It has a long history of political involvement, as many local and national politicians have called it home. This includes former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, who served in the Senate representing Delaware when he resided in Fair Lakes. Currently, the town is represented on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors by Penny Gross, who was first elected in 2003 and was reelected in 2015. Other local political candidates running for office include Michael Frey for Supervisor District Sully and Katie Cristol for School Board at Large. Both are dedicated to improving the quality of life in the community through economic development, educational opportunities and environmental protection initiatives.
