Athens, WI is a small city located in Marathon County with a population of about 1,300 people. The government in Athens consists of a mayor and six members of the City Council who are elected by the citizens every two years. The Mayor and City Council are responsible for creating and implementing laws, regulations, and policies that benefit the community as well as providing various services such as public safety, infrastructure maintenance and economic development. Currently, Mayor Todd O'Brien is leading the city council with their agenda to improve the quality of life for all Athens residents. This includes improving public safety by adding more police officers, developing new parks and recreational areas, and encouraging economic growth through grants to small businesses. The city also hosts an annual town hall meeting where citizens can ask questions or give feedback to their elected officials. Through these meetings, Athens residents have an opportunity to be heard on what they believe should be done for their community.

R if the Republican Party candidate won, D if the Democratic Party candidate won and I if the Independent Party candidate won.
