Searcy County, Arkansas is a rural county located in the northern part of the state. It has a small population of 7,840 people according to the official census bureau estimates in 2019. Despite its small size, Searcy County plays an important role in local politics. The county is represented by Republican Senator Mark Johnson and Republican Representative Rebecca Petty in the Arkansas General Assembly. On the local level, Searcy County elects its own county judge and seven members for their quorum court that makes budget decisions for the county. The elections also include other positions such as sheriff, circuit clerk, treasurer and collector. As of 2020, there are no announced candidates for any upcoming elections in Searcy County.
