Lafourche Parish, located in Louisiana's South Central region, is home to a diverse and vibrant political landscape. The parish is represented at the state level by several legislators, including State Representative Jerome Zeringue, State Senator Norby Chabert and U.S. Representative Garret Graves. At the local level, Lafourche Parish has a seven-member Parish Council that oversees various issues such as economic development, public safety and infrastructure. The council is comprised of members from each of the seven districts within the parish, with each member elected by the citizens of their respective district every four years. Additionally, there are many other political organizations in Lafourche Parish that help shape policy and provide services to its constituents. Here at BestPlaces, we were looking at the voting patterns since the 2000 election and realized that we could express the results of each election as one letter.
