Iron, MO County is a small rural community located in west-central Missouri. It has a strong agricultural presence and a rich history rooted in the Civil War. The county seat is Ironville, where the local government offices are located. Politically speaking, Iron, MO County operates under a three-member Board of Supervisors. These supervisors are elected to office by popular vote and serve three year terms. In addition to the Board of Supervisors, Iron County also elects representatives to both the statehouse and state senate. Currently, these representatives include Senator Joseph Davis and Representative Ed Moore for the state senate and Representative Mike Sims for the state house. All three politicians run on conservative platforms focusing on traditional values, economic development, and fiscal responsibility. Additionally, Iron County residents actively participate in local elections through their support of various candidates running for positions such as Sheriff and county Clerk/Recorder among others. As a whole, Iron County is invested in its political process making sure their voice is heard at both local and national levels of government.
