The Spokane-Spokane Valley metro area is located in the southeastern region of Washington and its political landscape is heavily influenced by Republican and Democratic parties. There are several elected positions for all levels of government, from local representatives to members of Congress. At the local level, the Spokane City Council and Spokane Valley City Council both have seven members elected to serve four-year terms.
