El Cajon Weather - 7/19/2009

I have lived here in El Cajon for the past five years and I would say that the averages are inaccurate or at least it seems that way in the past five years I could probably count the number of times it has rained on my ten fingers. We are in a serious drought right now to the point people can only water thier lawns during certain times and on certain days. It is very hot here July-Oct with it getting to above 100 around mid July there is alot of sun but sometimes its so hot you cant go outside to enjoy it. Most houses here have swimming pools for that reason. The cost of living here is considerably less than in San Diego city and it is just ten minutes away from there if you move here make sure you have an air conditioner in your apartment or house. The rest of the year the weather is pretty mild although the nights can be a bit cool.[read more...]

Not as bad as San Diego - 6/15/2006

The further out from San Diego the cheeper the housing, but of couse cheaper is realitive. When you start with housing prices that are out of sight in San Diego, you get housing prices that are just within sight in El Cajon. Besides the housing cost, everything else seems a fair price, gas is a little high but it is everywhere in California, and is a few cents cheaper than the touristy areas of San Diego. So a little cheaper to live than San Diego, not quite as pretty, but downtown San Diego, the beaches, the zoo and Sea World are all 20 to 30 minutes away. Not a bad trade off.[read more...]

El Cajon is a fine place to live - 5/29/2006

I've lived in El Cajon, Ca. since 1954 and don't think I'd like to live anywhere else unless it was further EAST to the mountain area. It's great climate---perfect for gardens and roses. It's a little hot in the Summer but we have plenty of outside activities and places to visit to keep cool. Crime is low----downtown is being re vamped and becoming more beautiful everyday. It's a great place to live.[read more...]
