Great Family Town - 12/11/2009

Great weather, nice small town feeling with free concerts in the park over the summer months. The public school scores are some of the highest in the nation. Residents are friendly. Safe place to live. Public transportation is good. Close enough to the "big" city of San Francisco to enjoy all the Bay Area culture.[read more...]

East Bay Area climate - 2/24/2009

Situated in the Tri-Valley area of the East San Francisco Bay, Pleasanton is a warmer and drier climate than the rest of the area. Summers are hot by Northern California standards, with temperatures reaching 108-112 degrees in August. Winters are mild and Spring and Fall are delightful. [read more...]

Weather - 10/30/2008

The majority of the year, the area is true to its name---Pleasant. However, summers are extremely hot. From June to mid-September, the range is in the 90's, with at least three weeks in August in the 100's. But, just a few minutes' drive over the hills, and the temp. drops about 20 degrees, with a wonderful breeze from the ocean.[read more...]

Pleasanton is very pleasant! - 5/7/2007

Pleasanton is a wonderful place. It is in a valley, surrounded by lush ranges. The weather is great; although, not as warm as So Cal. You can't really swim in these oceans. There is very low crime rate and the schools are excellent. The culture here is very appealing. The location is central: close to freeways and neighboring cities. Close to cities over the grades, to the west and south. The down side is that it is very expensive to live here.[read more...]

Pleasanton, Ca - Hometown - 6/19/2006

We have lived here in Pleasanton for the past ten years and have mograted here from the midwest (Chicago- Naperville suburubs)and Pittsburgh- McCandless Twp suburbs. Great town and Tri-valley community with excellent schools and athletics. Convrenient to San Jose, oakland and San Francisco for social and sporting activities as well as restaurants and night life. We live in Livermore Valley wine country a growing wine producing area similar to Napa/Sonoma. Sun basically from March to December. Only drawback is the cost of housing/living especially if relocating from the small market East coast cities. The Pleasanton/East Bay area is much less than the San Francisco p[ennisula housing market but still 2 to 3 times more expensive than pittsburgh or napervill for the equivalent home.[read more...]

Crime - 4/25/2006

Pleasanton has the lowest crime statistics in all of Alameda County. The city has many amenities and still boasts very little violent crime. With a 2006 population of approximately 70,000 residents Pleasanton hosts over 150,000 people during a typical week day. During a busy Alameda County Fair venue weekend, that might grow to 175,000 people. Murders are usually 1-2 every three YEARS. Stranger rapes are 1-2 per year. There are a siginificant number of property crimes, but many are against victims that are unaware of their surroundings and leave valuables in cars or hotel rooms. With those crime stats and population base your chances of being victimized are very small.[read more...]
