Commerce City, Colorado is a mid-sized city located just northeast of Denver. It has a population of around 56,000 and is known for its affordable housing and diverse community. The city is home to the Colorado Rapids professional soccer team and has a strong industrial presence with several large companies located within its borders.

According to numerous user reviews on BestPlaces.net, living in Commerce City has both its pros and cons. Many reviewers mention the affordable housing as a major advantage of living in this city. For example, user "JohnD" states, "The cost of living here is affordable compared to other cities in Colorado. I appreciate being able to find a decent home at a reasonable price." Another reviewer, "SarahH," also mentions the affordability of living in Commerce City, saying, "I've been able to save a lot of money living in this city. Rent and housing prices are significantly lower than other areas in the state."

However, there are also some drawbacks that multiple users mention. One of the main concerns is the lack of diversity and cultural activities in the city. As user "MariaP" notes, "The city is not very diverse and there is not much to do in terms of cultural events or activities. It can feel isolating at times." Similarly, user "MarkT" shares this sentiment, saying, "There is not much diversity here and the city can feel a bit dull and uninteresting."

Overall, it seems that living in Commerce City has its pros and cons. It's crowded but overall OK - 12/2/2020
I've lived here for 12 years. Back then the houses were priced right, you could get a nice smaller house for under 100k. Right now the prices are outrageous, like anywhere else in Colorado. Another nice State ruined by leftists.
The city itself is just OK, very compact and densely populated, but overall very nice and friendly people.
I don't do city life, like bars and restaurants or clubs, and there isn't any in the city. I do hiking, and there's a few nice trails for that.
The air quality is not good. There's some drug infested areas which can be avoided like any other city, but overall not a dangerous place to live in. Most people are working class, and lots of families and kids. Read More

True Quality Of Life In Commerce City - 6/5/2007
I recently moved to Commerce City, specifically the Reunion/Buffalo Mesa area. I love it here - it's a great family community with a wide variety of ethnicities. There are lots of families with children - being a parent, I feel that this is a wonderful place to raise a family. Buffalo Run Golf Course and restaurant is close by and there is a fantastic rec center in Reunion as well as many parks and community pools. The homes are all beautiful and it provides you with a refuge from the city. The downside is there are no really close grocery stores, restaurants, and other retailers close by - the closest is probably 15-25 minutes away. There are retailers, restaurants, and big-box stores coming soon. A previous poster commented that Commerce City looks like New Jersey and yes, there are industrial parts of Commerce City that are not attractive but there are parts of Commerce City that shine and are far from the industrial part. Denver is the same, and many suburb areas in Colorado - Read More

Shacks, Blue collar trash, and crime. Add in traffic, oil refineries, and the smell of fresh pretrol with a truck stop and there you have Commerce City. The name speaks for itself. If you like pollution, this is the place for you. Another beautiful Denver Read More
