User Review #1: "Kemmerer is a hidden gem in Wyoming. The people here are so friendly and welcoming, it feels like a big family. The outdoor activities are endless and the views are breathtaking. It's a great place to raise a family and enjoy a simpler way of life." - Mary S.

User Review #2: "I moved to Kemmerer for a job opportunity and it's been a tough adjustment. The town is very small and there isn't much to do. I miss having more options for dining, shopping, and entertainment. However, the cost of living is extremely low, which is a big plus." - John W.

User Review #3: "I've lived in Kemmerer my whole life and I can't imagine living anywhere else. It's a tight-knit community where everyone knows each other. We have a strong sense of pride in our town and its history. The only downside is the harsh winters, but that's just part of living in Wyoming." - Sarah L.

User Review #4: "I visited Kemmerer last summer and fell in love with the town. The scenery is stunning and there are so many outdoor activities to enjoy. However, I couldn't see myself living here permanently due to the limited job opportunities and remote location. It's a great place to visit, but not sure if I could call it home." - Mike R.

The whorehouse closed in the early 1980's. There's two bars downtown and one near the BLM office in Frontier. The shops along Main St. are mostly boarded up or run down, and the sheepherders never make it into town since they're Chilean, Peruvian, Mexican, or Basque and spend ALL of their time out there with the herds.

The coal mine and power plants pay pretty well as do the oil/gas field companies.

You're right about many of the locals, but not all. There are some good people there, but they seem to be overshadowed by the jerks. It's a bad place to relocate your children to also. Our kids were continuously hazed by the local kids, some of them had cops for parents. The hazing involved verbal abuse, shunning, ridicule, and physical attacks at times. The schools weren't that great either. We had a 3rd grade teacher who ended up failing about 60 - 75% of their students and quite a few moronic HS teachers. There are some good teachers there, but they Read More

When winter comes, the highways can be closed for days at a time. However, I would recommend "The Southern Comfort," the house of prositution on the south end of town.
And you can have your choice of bars.. plenty to choose from! Some of the best fights can be seen at "Norma's." Don't get involved in any of the fights though, if possible. Some of them sheepherders can be rough!
I hope you have an outisde source of income. Or like to work in a coal mine.
