What BestPlaces Users Say about Nevada

Nevada is a state located in the western region of the United States known for its desert landscapes and vibrant cities like Las Vegas and Reno. It is a popular destination for tourists and has a booming economy driven by industries such as gaming, tourism, and mining.

Nevada has received mixed reviews from residents and visitors alike. Many people praise its diverse landscapes and bustling cities, while others criticize its high cost of living and lack of job opportunities. According to user reviews on Best Places, a website that collects data and reviews about different locations, there is a wide range of opinions about living in Nevada. Let's take a closer look at what some users have to say about their experience in this state.

1. "Living in Nevada has its pros and cons. On the one hand, there's always something to do in Las Vegas, and the landscape is breathtaking. However, the cost of living keeps getting higher and it can be challenging to find a good job outside of the tourism industry." - JohnDoe85

2. "I moved to Reno a year ago and I couldn't be happier. The people are friendly, the cost of living is affordable, and there are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a change of pace." - MarySmith22

3. "I've been living in Nevada for over 20 years and I've seen it change for the worse. The traffic in Las Vegas is unbearable and the crime rate is through the roof. Unless you have a high-paying job, it's nearly impossible to make ends meet here." - NevadaNative77

4. "Nevada is a great state for retirees. The weather is sunny and warm, there's no state income tax, and the housing prices are reasonable. I've been living in Henderson for the past 5 years and I have no regrets." - HappyRetiree123

Overall, it seems that opinions about living in Nevada are divided. While some enjoy the excitement and natural beauty of the state, others have concerns about the cost of living and job opportunities. It is important for individuals considering moving to Nevada to thoroughly research and weigh the pros and cons before making a decision.

I'm pissed off and angry! Lyon County, Nevada prop - 5/28/2015
Example, funding has stopped for our Rsvp non emergency nevada medical transportation program for disabled people under 60, and being disabled, low income, I don't qualify for logisticare non emergency medical transportation.

BECAUSE of wasteful government spending on things that are not necessary, it jeopardized important programs like rsvp. Myself being disabled with ms, under 60 and low income, and I did email all are nevada politicians, and of course as you would expect, they chose to do nothing, it's pretty obvious, this proves that they are "(do-nothing)" nevada politicians that also discriminate against us disabled, but because of this letter they will deny, and come up with a twisted excuse.
But if THEY or someone they care about gets disabled, then something will be done.

My family of three has been an additional figures of this State and recently moved in from Hawaii. Being a retired military veteran and as a former police officer I use it as working tool against any untoward that could be a threat to my family. North Las Vegas where we currently reside has been known as a hardcore county to lived in. Our neighbors in the Bridleton area where a percentage of american minorities which is most in numbers has not been detrimental to any civil obedience issues. We've been here for almost a year now and the good far outreached the bad so far. I commend our police officers who restore and provide the safety for every citizens of this county, state for their quick response time in restoring public safety. Well done to all our police officers in uniform! - Bill Norva.  Read More

Despite a housing collapse, which makes housing some of the best opportunities in the country, Nevada offers the best weather and recreation and tourist opportunities for families and seniors. Yes its hot in the summer BUT remember this: we have NO winters, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, mudslides, forest fires, avalanches, blizzards, floods, or high crime. We DO have low property taxes but no income tax. We have access to the best entertainment and restaurants in the Read More
