i know what you mean about the racial feeling i got when i visited there recently. I'm a black American male who recently visited my niece in Fremont two weeks ago and went went into a gas station to send money western union and was treated very rude by the middle eastern person who owned the store. before i could even ask about western union, i was told my kind were not welcomed in his store , leaving his store, i went up to the next block to the next gas station and guess who owned it/ another middle eastern who gave me the dirtiest look and as i was asking him about western union. when other people walked in, he left our conversation and tended to other costumers. I where my red U.S army Big red 1 first Infantry Division baseball cap every where i go and proud to have served in Nam, Grenada, Panama and Kuwait but to be treated like that by a individual yelling at me in broken bad middle eastern English was hard to take. remembering what my southern parents taught me, i left the store peacefully after telling him, if it wasn't for the military people. who fought for everyone's right's, he wouldn;t be able to be the mean SOB he was being! Thought the thought of giving him an 82nd Airborne Ranger Buttwhipping would've brightened my day! Don't let the stupid people get to you and your wife! good luck!
