Review of Chattanooga, Tennessee

Private schools dominate the culture
Star Rating - 1/19/2013
Chattanooga is a beautiful location, with plentiful outdoor exercise and activity options. We have lived her for almost six years. The one thing we have not been able to adjust to is the predominance of private schools.

In a given neighborhood, you might have 10 families with similar-aged children and yet they may be going to 3 or even 4 different private schools. Given that a families social activities are largely influenced by the school's schedule, this often results in a lack of cohesiveness and unity within a given geographic neighborhood.

We have struggled to adjust to this dynamic and this prevents us from truly calling Chattanooga "home".
