Review of McKinney, Texas

Unbelievelable Value
Star Rating - 12/8/2008
In a day and age where you tend to get less and less for you money McKinney, TX is a hidden gem when it comes to affordable homes. In reality the entire DFW area (except northern Dallas Co.) is very affordable. What set's McKinney apart is the general beauty (not something North Texas is known for) and the city's commitment to quality real estate development. McKinney is very hilly and tree covered. Many areas have lakes and ponds with many natural trees and greenbelts. This offers lots of natural beauty, screening from city noise and other homes. Almost all roads are winding and tree lined. Crape Myrtles fill the medians of pretty much every street. Each development (commercial or residential) is well planned and integrated nicely with the overall look and feel of McKinney. Good examples of this are, the downtown renovation, the shops at Eldorado and central (west side), Stonebridge Ranch, Tucker Hill (a must see) and the heart of Craig Ranch. One would think all the beauty would cost an fortune, but it call all be yours for roughly $90-$110 a square foot. I have not found a better value anywhere in the country so close to a large metro area. With all the natural beauty and great homes prices this is the only place in DFW I would consider living.
