The irony of this comment begins with not being able to find a job for not speaking Spanish, based on the grammar used in the paragraph above, maybe your challenge in the job search came from your lack of proper English. I was born and raised in Oxnard and the public education system was so detrimental to my being I am now attending UC Berkeley. The constant reference to "local friend" makes it unclear to me if you live there, if so enlighten us with your own opinion. As far as there being a large Mexican population, I can confirm that by stating that the United States is an eclectic country, if you are not use to interacting with those whom are different than you stay indoors and you will never have to experience the horrendous experience of "different cultures."
