Oregon is a great place to live and I wish I live there. I have visit Oregon many times and I always love visiting Oregon from Texas. Its so much cooler weather there during the summer and a ton of things to do. Don't forget to visit Seaside,Lincoln City, Newport and Brookings those towns are neat to visit along the coast and there is a lot of place to hike along the coast of Oregon. I think Salem might be a good place to live and its about 60 miles south of Portland. The west area of Salem has nice houses and its a very nice small city in Oregon. There are some very nice small towns near Portland like Beaverton but check out salem and beaverton. I am moving to Idaho soon because I want to be closer to Oregon and Washington and Idaho is a great place to live too and maybe I might move to Oregon instead of Idaho. You and your family will love Oregon and don't forget that its may rain a lot during winter time but most of the time the weather is pretty awesome almost all the time and no hot weather to deal with in Oregon. Its would be very rare for Oregon to have hot weather.
