Review of Nixa, Missouri

Nixa ia a great place to live.
Star Rating - 6/19/2019
We moved here from the west coast over 15 years ago and love it. The first thing our family noticed was how friendly and helpful the people were here. People out west don't talk to you unless they know you. Strangers in stores here will just strike up a conversation like you are old friends.. Neighbors are friendly and willing to help. Crime is low and there is no part of this city that I would worry about being in alone as a woman at night.
Property values are low. We were able to afford a house on 3 acres here, which we never could have done back west. Our property taxes are much lower also.
There are always new people moving in from different parts of the country. We have friends who have moved here recently from Colorado, California, and Oregon. Many people we know were attracted to Nixa because of the great school system.
Being situated between Springfield and Branson give us access to lots of shopping, restaurants, and entertainment opportunities. We are close to fabulous lakes, rivers, and state parks for those who love outdoor activities. We have two airports (Springfield and Branson) and are only 3-1/2 hours from St. Louis in one direction and Kansas City in the other, so all the bigger city amenities are in reach.
It's been a great place to raise our kids!

You got to be kidding?! The climate is awful. The crime is awful too from the proximity to Springfield. This review must have been written by a realtor. It is a horrible place to live. We moved from CA in 2020. We are leaving Nixa. Even as white people we found the community to be backward, racist, ignorant and lacking achievement. People are religious fundamentalists and preach Christian values but are happy to bleed new comers from out of state dry with inflated pumped up home prices and other durable goods. Oh here come the coastal immigrants, lets milk them dry is the large real estate brokerage in town motto. Good luck selling you home to a local. They can not afford any homes bought in the last 5 years so you will have to sell to another out of state sucker to hold the bag.
