| 2/2/2011 | parent | I do not agree witht he teacher who stated that students with relative behavioral problems do not go to Creekside. It is wrong to generalize. I do not think that my daughter has strong behavioral problems. She is going to Creekside to be able to graduate in time, and not due to strong behavioral issues. This school helped her improve her grades and it seems that she will be able to graduate high school in time. She is also playing on Woodbridge girls basketball team. I appreciate the fact that Creekside gives the students opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities at other IUSD schools. This school has influenced my daughter in a very positive way. |
| 3/6/2008 | teacher | I personally know several students who had to attend Creekside and they were mostly people with strong behavioral problems. Most students with relative behavioral problems do not go to Creekside. Only a few students who show no improvement will transfer to Creekside. |
| 8/31/2007 | parent | Horrible teachers and faculty. If your child ends up here you are going to have no chance of them becoming a better student |
| 5/16/2007 | parent | Creekside is the antithesis of the overstructured, inflexible, punitive schools that characterize IUSD. It is truly a shame that they only take students on referral - i.e., students who have already gotten into trouble at other Irvine high schools. The quality of academic programs does not differ much from the other schools (other than the amount of homework). Since it is a continuation high school, the extracurricular activities are minimal - however, there is an opportunity to participate in these programs at the other IUSD high schools. I found the level of parent involvement to be quite high and enthusiastic. My daughter took a trip to Italy with her class over spring break, and parents were involved in planning meetings for several months. There was always high attendance and participation. The staff at Creekside are superior. They concentrate their efforts on helping students achieve their full potential rather than forcing them into a mold. |
