| 8/27/2012 | parent | I have nothing bad at all to say. Only good things, the kids LOVE it at this school, they are learning well, it is a warm and inviting school and everyong incl faculty, staff, and even Mr. Bob the Custodian (I think) is helpful and friendly. I've never felt that my family was so welcome at any other school! LOVE IT |
| 8/27/2012 | parent | Second Creek is a great school with a great staff. We moved our child to Second Creek from an elementary school in another district because we felt as if she was not academically challenged. She was placed in Ms. Kasza's 1st grade class and our problem was solved! Ms. Kasza saved 1st grade for us! |
| 8/27/2012 | parent | I couldn't be prouder to have my daughter attend Second Creek! I can't say enough good things about the administration, the teachers, and the staff - they all seem to really care about the students and their education. The PTO is phenomenal in getting the parents and community as a whole involved through their events, even getting me to attend events before my kids were in school. I work with six school districts and most of the schools in those districts, and am yet to see a school more complete than Second Creek. So proud that it's my community school! |
| 8/27/2012 | parent | Second Creek is a GREAT school!! My two children attend here and have for the last two years after moving from another area school district. The difference in academics, expectations, and administration of the school is night and day! Second Creek is amazing. I was disappointed to see they only received 4 out of 10 from the 'Great Schools' ratings. My experience, and that of my children has been 9 out of 10! Great teachers and support and Mrs. Sims and Mr. Carter are WONDERFUL!! |
| 7/31/2012 | parent | I have two kids who attend Second Creek and we have had a great experience. The best part has been the teachers. They have all been excellent, caring, and committed to each kids individual success. They blend the right amount of fun and discipline. |
| 11/30/2011 | parent | I Have 2 daughters attending second creek. They have both had great teachers and great educations. The PTO is awesome and hosts lots of fun events. I would highly recommend it. |
| 11/2/2011 | parent | This is the only school my kids have ever attended, so I have nothing to compare it too....but I absolutely love it! We have had amazing teachers and the administration and staff truly care about the families. The teachers get involved and do silly stuff to motivate the kids (the asst principal dressed as a superhero and slid down a chocolate pudding slip 'n slide!) I have had some people comment that they don't care for our principal but I have always had a great relationship with her. She comes to all of our PTO meetings and always makes an appearance at our school skate nights. My kids test scores are always way above the district and state average for their grade level so I know they are learning what they need to know. Highly recommend this school! |
| 10/20/2009 | parent | my child has learned so much at this school I would rate it 8 out of 10 |
| 9/24/2009 | parent | Academics are good... no emphasis on upper-level music... no orch, choir, or band offered of any significance. Music helps self-esteem & attendance & test scores |
| 12/5/2008 | parent | I'm the mom of a 1st grader, and honestly, the principal at second creek elementry is one of the worse I've ever met, she is rude and condesending, she is not a people friendly person, and I feel very uncomfortable visiting my son at school after meeting her. |
| 8/13/2008 | parent | We love this school, my son has attended Second Creek for the last 3 years. Since going to this school his ADHD has not been an issue. He has been on the honor roll every semester for two of those years. The staff has all been great. Mr Felton and Mrs Simms are fantastic. Mrs Rodivin and Mr Mogensen are some of the best teachers I have ever seen. Special thanks to Nancy in office staff too she has always been a great asset. I will be sad when my son finishes 6th grade this year and moves on........ |
| 4/25/2008 | parent | My children (2nd and 5th grades) feel absolutely at home at Second Creek... and like it as much as their previous Texas elementary from last year - Alexander Elementary in Katy ISD - one of the top ten elementaries in all of Texas! My kids' teachers are very very very strong and caring. |
| 3/25/2008 | parent | My boys have done outstanding since they have been attending Second Creek. The teachers are great and Mr Felton and Ms. Simms are fantastic with the children. I am beyond satisfied with the education my children are getting! |
| 3/10/2008 | parent | My son has been going to this school for a year now and it is a great school. The teachers genuinly care about these kids. My son has improved so much on his education with reading and with math. They do have homework on the regular that sometimes can be a bit easy but most of the time it is age approriate. This school is also very well diversed the children there come from 15 different language backgrounds which is great. They also have great specials that are including science, art, PE, computers and Library starting in KG. My sons favorite project was making slime in science class. This school is great and the Principle and secretary are great people who care about the school, anyone should give this school a chance. |
| 10/12/2007 | parent | We have one of our sons in this school and one in Butler Elementary in Ft. Lupton. We are amazed at the Specials that this school offers. The science lab special is something I wish had been at my elementary school. My son gets to go to music, art, p.e., computer lab, science lab, and the library as specials. In science, they do hands on experiments every class. My son is in the 1st grade and I have been impressed with his teacher. She is a literary specialist, so my son is reading pretty well for the 1st semester. He has homework every night, and while it only takes 10 or 20 minutes per night to do, it helps keep me informed as to what they are working on in class. I think it was worth the fight to get him into this school. |
| 9/15/2006 | parent | My daughter is currently in fourth grade. She has next to no homework and the in-class is very easy for her. I do not want for her to suffer later on in high school and college because she got behind in elementary school. I have bought her Fourth grade level language arts and math books that I have her do to keep her mind going. Hopefully her homework will get a little more challenging later in the year. |
| 1/29/2006 | parent | The school was not in the least challenging for my 5th grade daughter. We were truly disappointed. Homework was done every night in ten minutes. Her quailty of work fell, due to her knowing she didn't have to try hard. The bad news was her grades didn't fall. The teacher's expectations were extremely low. |
