11/1/2012parentThe staff really cares about the girls. The girls are focused and dedicated and their teachers are great.
8/12/2012parentThis school has a great staff, the principal is very caring and the after school enrichment program is diverse. The PTSA worked hard last year and is excited to get off to a running start this year (2012-2013).
5/13/2012parentThis school is exactly what middle schools need... an environment where they can take risks without the added pressure of boys. The girls have a wide range of activities to choose from after school and the teachers are second to none.
4/13/2011otherit is a great school all teachers and all staff member working in timely mennar and with team work.
5/22/2009otherThere is little no parental involvment. One parent is seen over and over again doing what she can. The teachers are expected to do everything on their own as well. They are fighting a battle that the parents are not willing to support. The faculty is amazing and the administration is on board and trying to lead but without parental involvment, their hands are tied. So sad.
11/22/2008parentThis School is Wonderful for your kids. My daughter has never made a's ever in her life until she went to this school. the teachers at this school actaully teach and listen to the students questions and ideals. the staff has helped me with every thing that i have asked them to do to get the benefit of my chilids education. A.J. Ferrell will give your kids quality education.
1/29/2008parentThe Administration at Ferrell Middle School does not enforce the dress code at all. It is very disappointing to see kids in jeans and t-shirts after paying a fortune for polo shirts and dress pants.
11/26/2007parentI want to said , this is an excellent school , plus they have an excellent staff, I can said they are always in the motivation to help the kids 100%, and i have faith on that. Thanks!!! to all the staff keep doing what you guys doing!!! Go Ferrell!!!
5/18/2006parentI found this school to be a 15 ring circus most of the time. It seems like te kids are running the school. Very spinless teaching situation. They have a hard time with behavior and uniforms.
1/11/2006teacherI had to opportunity to work at Ferrell for 5 years. Yes, the school climate has changed. Yes, the magnet issues were not supported by the district. But the one thing I am sure of was that each and everyperson that worked there from the custodian, lunchroom, support, instructional and administrative all were committed to Ms. Filhart's statement that we are there to teach the students that we have, not the students that we wish we had, or the students that we want to have, but to the students that we do have. Finally, education begins and ends in the home. If more parents would join the PTSA and volunteer for the fundraiser, field trips, sporting events, lunch duty, and teacher assistants, then the staff can go after the never ending changes required of them by our legislature. God Bless Ferrell and the staff there. Mr. Scheer, 8th grade Language Arts, 2000-2005
10/18/2005parentHighs and lows at this school. My son enjoyed his first couple years at Ferrell, but the overall composite of the school has changed. It really can't be classified as a 'magnet' school anymore, as the majority of the students who now attend live in the neighborhood. Discipline problems have increased dramatically as a result, and I'm not sure if the staff feels all that supported (particular by the district). My son got a fair education there and many staff and teachers were both committed and supportive. But overall, I don't think it lived up to what it was advertised to be.
2/19/2005parentI have bee very satisfied with the education my child has been receiving at Ferrell. I especially appreciate the Project Lead the Way pre-engineering pr
12/19/2004parentThis school has been great for my son. He has go a quality education from excellant teachers and I have been very satisfied with everything.
9/9/2003parentI have just placed my third child in the 6th grade. The oldest finished three years ago and second will finish this year. The staff opened so many doors for my children. If it had not been for Ferrell I do not believe the schools here in Plant City would have informed us of the wonderful high school choices we had out there. My oldest is in the IB program and I credit this to Ferrell. They teach the children to go one extra step and they believe in them. We have been waking up at 5 every morning to catch a bus at 6 in the morning and these children never complain. That right there tells you somethingn is happening in a positive way at Ferrell.
