  Students Getting Free LunchYear
3/21/2011parentMy son is in Miss Butler's class(K), and he loves it. The energy and involvement by parents/ community was what caught my attention to this wonderful school.
3/30/2010parentPros: Outstanding, energetic, and responsive principle. High-quality teachers. Grounds & building in good shape. Safe. G&T. (Full-time teacher in school.) Technology ed. (Kids were given a digital camera to took pictures & learned to download -- in Kindergarten!) Cons: No foreign language. 'Health tech' instead of school RN. Large K class sizes (24 kids). Late start/finish time (due to busses serving Swansfield El first). Cafeteria too small, meaning lunches are too fast and (for some grades) too early/late. Pro/Con: Lots of individualized assessment, esp in first part of the year. Nice to have, but detracts from teaching time.
3/24/2010parentMy son is in Kindergarten and loves this school. The faculty is very helpful and he has learned alot in the 7 months he has been attending.
2/19/2008parentMy son, who entered kindergarten this year, really enjoys this school and is learning tremendously. His teacher, Ms. Butler is very positive, warm, and energetic. He feels safe and confident in school. He enjoys the classroom activites, opportunity to change classes (tech ed, gym, art, math, etc), rather than staying in the same room all day as he did in pre-school. It seems young to do so much changing, but he really enjoys the movement. And there is a clear routine for him. The only thing is I wish they offered foreign language. Students at this age are much more open to this ex experience. Overall, it is a great school with a warm, welcoming atmosphere with many opportunities for individual growth!
10/16/2007parentClemens Crossing Elementary School is Columbia's best kept secret. One of our children has graduated from CCES and the other now attends. The school has a great new Principal, a great staff, an amazing Media Center and an extremely supportive and established PTA with so many additional enrichment vehicles for your child that it would make your head spin. Many of the staff have won various awards for high achievement in teaching and have been at the school for a long time, which is a indicator of a stable educational environment. The school facility is currently not overcrowded and actually is a bit underutilized. A new wing for full day kindergarten was just completed and 28 year old physical plant is in remarkably good shape and high on the list for upgrading. Our kids love this school.
9/6/2007parentClemens Crossing is the ideal elementary school. It has a close knit community feel, has exceptional teachers, administrators and volunteers. We have one son in the third grade and another that 'graduated' the fifth grade last year. We could not have asked for a better experience.
6/7/2007parentWe have moved schools every year since my oldest started school. This is the best school! We have been so pleased with everyone from the Principal, to the school nurse. The teachers are fantastic and parents are always in the loop. GT program, and SPED as well. You don't get any better than Clemens Crossing.
11/10/2006studentVery good school! One only thing that they should have is: Spanish. They have G/T Teachers: extra programs to get kids where they should be, and to get kids smart, involved,& up above grade level They are build ing a kindergarten class. This school has band & strings. This is the school you should go to! Mrs, Dumler: Principal is very nice!
5/26/2005parentWhat a great school!!! My first grader also had Mrs. Larner last year in Kindergarten and thrived! He is now in Mrs. Thomerson's class. My husband and I are very pleased with the school, staff and our son's academic progress. There is truly a cohesive partnership between the staff and parents. Parents are very involved, and the teachers are committed to students being successful.
4/30/2005parentExcellent school and excellent staff, led by the able pricipal, Mrs. Dumler. We are very happy with what our son has achieved since joining Mrs. Larner's class last September and can't wait till our second son is old enough to join this excellent school.
